Houlihan Lokey, a premier global investment bank, appointed Aura Consulting to lead the delivery of their 7,000 sqft Madrid office. As part of a long-term global partnership managing 14 office deliveries, Aura acted as the central strategic lead.
Aura managed multiple project teams and a local Design & Build (D&B) procurement route. Aura implemented a hands-on travel schedule to align global corporate objectives with the specific operational needs of the Madrid management team, delivering a high-specification workspace tailored to the local Spanish market.
Challenges
The August Shutdown – A significant hurdle was the traditional Spanish August hiatus, causing a total cessation of local labour and deliveries. Aura implemented an accelerated, meticulous programme to ensure major works and material procurement were staged before the shutdown, preventing any impact on the final delivery date.
Supply Chain Synchronisation – Leading a Madrid-based D&B supply chain from London required rigorous oversight. Aura ensured local contractors met top-tier financial sector standards, navigating regional building codes and technical requirements that differed significantly from UK and US templates.
Stakeholder Diplomacy – The design brief was exceptionally varied to meet local management requirements. Aura managed the delicate balance of accommodating bespoke regional needs while ensuring the final environment remained aligned with the bank’s overarching brand prestige.
