Brief
YMU, a global talent agency, appointed Aura Consulting to consolidate six offices into a single 20,000 sqft workspace at 180 Great Portland Street, London, supporting their rebrand from James Grant Group.
The project formed part of YMU’s transformation from the James Grant Group to their new global identity, requiring a workplace that embodied creativity, collaboration, and brand energy. Originally scoped as a 4,000 sqft relocation, the scheme evolved significantly as YMU acquired new businesses, ultimately expanding fivefold in scale and complexity.
Aura provided full Project Management and Quantity Surveying services, overseeing the CAT B fit out create a cohesive environment for YMU’s diverse divisions.
Challenges
Evolving Scope & Scale – The project expanded from a 4,000 sqft brief to a 20,000 sqft full-floor fit out, requiring flexible commercial management and agile delivery.
Multi-Disciplinary Requirements – The design had to accommodate varied operational needs, including DJ and sound booths, meeting suites, and informal collaboration zones.
Brand Transformation – As part of YMU’s global rebrand, the workplace needed to project a bold, unified identity while reflecting the individuality of each business unit.
Tight Programme – The consolidation of six offices demanded precise phasing to minimise disruption and ensure business continuity
