Brief
Argyll, a premium flexible workspace provider, appointed Aura Consulting to manage the high-specification refurbishment of their 14,000 sqft Grade II listed townhouse in Belgravia.
As part of a broader 120,000 sqft account engagement across seven properties, this project required a sympathetic restoration – including high ceilings and an original oak staircase – while integrating modern luxury. Aura oversaw the Design & Build procurement, ensuring the interior narrative aligned with Argyll’s Townhouse portfolio, featuring marble finishes, velvet upholstery, and high-end acoustic treatments.
Challenges
Live Environment Management – The building was 98% occupied throughout the six-month programme. With no swing space available and a tenant base primarily composed of therapists requiring absolute silence, Aura managed a meticulous, phased schedule to eliminate noise disruption and maintain business continuity.
Sustainability in Heritage – A key objective was improving the building’s environmental performance. Aura successfully navigated the constraints of a Grade II listing to elevate the EPC rating from a ‘D’ to a ‘B,’ a significant achievement for a property of this age and stature.
Infrastructure Integration – Integrating 21st-century tech into a period structure required precision. We installed secure, private LANs for each tenant and state-of-the-art Polycom AV technology, ensuring the historic setting met modern corporate security and connectivity standards.
